![]() FAQ'SIs Acupuncture Safe? Yes. Sterile disposable needles are always used and a strict Codes of Conduct is followed from the Acupuncture & Healing Practitioners Register. Does an Acupuncture treatment hurt? Very little. Your acupuncturist will be using needles which are very fine and flexible. The needles are usually inserted only to a few millimetres. After treatment many report a feeling of relaxation and well-being. What does 'Shen' mean? The word 'Shen' can be loosely translated as Spirit however contrary to the Western idea of Spirit, in Chinese medicine Shen encompasses the dimensions of Mind, Spirit, consciousness, awareness and vitality. What do I wear during the treatment? Depending on the primary technique your therapist uses, you may or may not need to undress. You will given privacy to undress and you will be covered with towels at all times except the area being worked upon. Where will my treatment session take place? Your treatment session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort. |
